Kaithi was announced on 12 December 2018 and the filming began around late December 2018. Principal photography for Kaithi Tamilrockers commenced in December 2018. The film marks the second film for director Lokesh after Maanagaram in 2017. The filmmakers revealed that the film does not have a female lead with Karthi who had signed in to play the role of a prisoner which the title of the film itself reveals.

Kaithi Tamilrockers is a Tamil movie written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of Managaram Fame. Jointly Produced by SR Prakashbabu, SR Prabhu, Tirupur Vivek under Dream Warrior Pictures, Kaithi film stars Karthi, Narain in the lead role. Music Director Sam CS composes the background and songs for the film. Sathyam Sooryan handles the camera and the editing is done by Philomin Raj.

Kaithi Tamil Movie Release Date

On the eve of the release of his brother Suriya's NGK on May 31, the teaser of Karthi's Kaithi is all set to be released. A second look of the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial was released earlier today detailing this news.

The title and a few shots have hinted that Karthi plays a character that breaks out of prison but we have to wait for the film to release to know why he’s being hunted.

Karthi as A Prisoner

Karthi plays a prisoner who escapes from police while being transferred to another jail. Later, something unusual happens and things turn upside down for the actor.

Lokesh extended his thanks to producer SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures. "I have made Kaithi Tamilrockers without songs and a heroine. I thought it's tough to break such stereotypes for a commercial film. Without Karthi and Prabhu, this film wouldn't have been what it is today."

Action Mixed Treat

Kaithi, an action thriller, also has Ramana, Anjadhey-fame Naren and George Mariyaan, in pivotal roles. This prison break drama, shot in and around Tirunelveli and Chennai, has music by Sam CS, and camera work by Sathyan Sooryan.

Bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures and Vivekananda Pictures, Kaithi Tamilrockers has music by Sam CS and cinematography by Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru-fame Sathyan Sooryan. Shot in and around Chennai and Tirunelveli, the film is set for a July release.

The is touted to be an action thriller, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of Maanagaram fame, the trailer of the much-anticipated film has clocked more than 1.6 million views on YouTube so far. At the audio launch, Karthi revealed that the film will be on the lines of Madras and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru.

The camera work for Kaithi Tamilrockers is done by Sathyan Sooryan. The film will be edited by Philomin Raj. The film, Kaithi Tamilrockers is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures and Vivekanand Pictures. The film is said to have no songs in it. The film will also have a hard-hitting subject with some high intensity action sequences. Actor Karthi last featured in the Tamil film called Dev. Actress Rakul Preet starred opposite Karthi.

Karthi Vs Bigil

Karthi starrer Kaithi Tamilrockers has completed the censor formalities and managed ‘U/A’ certificate from the regional officials. It would mean it would hit the screens for Deepavali an compete with Vijay starrer Bigil.

The movie's teaser will be out on May 30. SR Prakashbabu and Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures is producing the movie. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj made his debut in 2017 with the superhit action-thriller 'Maanagaram'. Sathyan Sooryan of 'Theeran' fame has cranked the camera and music is by Sam CS.
